Happy Independancce day! Why don't we show our independance by driving 5 hours in a car yet again? That is how we spend the later half of our holiday. In the morning we finished off the bagels and packed and got out. Then we parted ways with Ben and Melissa and they started home while we went to a cave. It was a cave in the ground and we went 180 ft underneath the surface. We could see all the way down to 207 ft. It was really cool and they had a lot of huge formations! And Kyra and Zoe, of course, absolutely loved the dark spooky cave. After lunch at Red Robin we started the drive home with a 4:30 snack of Sonic and arriving home around 8:30. Jon, kyra, and I went to see the fireworks and got pretty good spots within walking distance of their house. I got to talk to home and overall it wasn't to terrible a holiday for the first one not spent in Centerville.

San Antonio! Sunday
Schlitterbahn. I have no pictures but it was so much fun. We got lost along the way because the direction so helpfully given to us by Val's phone were walking directions. However we were in the car so we changed them and got there eventually. In the car was Jon, Val, Kyra, Megan, and me. Ben had to work in the morning so they figured that Melissa would keep the two babies and she and Ben would bring them after their early naps. Well, Ben had to make an emergency trip back to Houston so Melissa was alone all day with two 18 months old children. She didn't get to see schlitterbahn at all. But we had fun! There was a lazy river in one park and two river rides in the other that we went to which went into the actual river! It was a lot of fun and I am glad we went. We got back to the hotel around 10 and brought poor Melissa some food. Ben got back around 11 and we talked for a little while then all went to bed.
San Antonio! Saturday
After arriving at 10:30 and Ben and Melissa, my other Uncle and Aunt who have Megan for the summer, arriving at midnight, Kyra was still up at 8:00. So we (Val the girls and I) went to find breakfast. Getting lost in the process several times we brought back Einstiens Bagels to share. We eventually all got moving. We were all going to walk down to the Alamo. In the process we got lost again because it is actually quite small. Just one courtyard with a lot of trees. That is because only the church and barracks and some of the outer walls are still standing. But it was interesting even if it was supremely busy. After the Alamo we went to walk the river walk. Melissa went back to put Amira down. We walked around for a little bit then ate right across from our hotel, Omni La Mansion del Rio, at a mexican place called Rita's. After that we went back upstairs to change into swimsuits and swim while Amira finished napping and Zoe started. After swimming we went back down to the river walk to do a boat tour which we safely completed without jumping into the water. Then we got dinner for the youth (I am not a kid) and the adults went out while we babysat in our seperate rooms. Since it was just one room with two beds and a crib, I couldn't do much without waking Zoe or Kyra, so I read for a little bit then just went to bed.
But it was hot.
San Antonio! Friday
It is a five hour drive from McKinney to San Antonio. Longer if you stop in Waco for dinner at Rudy's. Even longer if you happen to hit some of the worst traffic there is. How do I know? From experience. It was long and felt longer stuck between two carseats with no room for my shoulders. But dinner was good. And Zoe thought it was the best day ever when she watched two dogs from the window and terrorized the baby behind us. Well, maybe not terrorized.
We arrived at the Hotel at 10:00 and we went right to sleep.
Thursday 30th
In the (late) morning we went to the pool with the cousins yet again and we stayed until 12:30ish and then we left and the rest the day I think we did errands. At 1:00 we did Open Gym. That is where all their equipment in this gymnastics center is open for use for 10 dollars. It is 2 hours of free reign. So I sat and watched while Kyra ran wild. But it was a fun day.
Wednesday 29th
Today we went over to the cousins pool in the morning. We got there around 11:00. Then we had lunch there at the pool at 12:30ish. We swam for a little more while Val took Zoe home for her nap and to do visiting teaching. After we got sick of swimming we went back to Grandma TX's house. There we played games and had fun. Then Val came and joined us for a little and we went home. It was tons of fun.
Tuesday 28th
Today Zoe had gynastics at 10:15 then we had about 3 hours before Val's piano students came at 2. While one of the two sisters went the other entertained Kyra. They are about my age. Then at 4:30 Kyra had her gymnastics. Jon got home late tonight.
In between Gymnastics and Piano Zoe and Kyra dressed up as princesses.

Day 7 Monday 27th
In the morning we went to Grandma TX's pool with my cousins Rebecca Tyler and Rachel and my aunt Liz who, since I forgot to mention this before, live with my Grandma. After swimming Rachel came back to Val's with me so we could clean the house for Jon coming home. We finished cleaning quickly and then hung out the rest the day. It was a fun day.
Day 6 Sunday 26th
Seeing how Jon is gone and Val goes early for choir practice it was a busy day.
We went to church at 12 so Val could have choir practice, and Zoe did not like that her mom wasn't with her. I kept her mostly calm though. Then during sacrament meeting the choir performed and so I followed Val with Zoe until she went up the steps and I took the side door. Zoe didn't like it at first but then she quieted down and I took her back in once the number was over. I went to Jon and Val, well, only Val's this week, Sunday School class. After that I went to Young Women's and we went home.
We changed and went to Grandma TX's. (My mother's mother who lives in TX and is therefore called that.) We had honey lime enchilada's which were a lot like the ones we have at home, but not exactly the same. Then we played games and talked.
Day 5 Saturday 25, 2011
Busy day "today". We drove an hour and a half to just outside Bonham where we picked our own blueberries. We picked about a 1/2 gallon. After that Kyra needed the bathroom so we went to McDonalds and got our midmorning snack.
We decided it would be fun to drive to Oklahoma as we were only 15 minutes away. So we crossed the Red River into Oklahoma making my 4th state in a week. Then we drove back to Bonham and visited Fort Inglish which had lots of interesting buildings to look at. After that we picked up Braums on our way home.
From home we went out again to Jo Ann's and the amazing Frisco Library. It is also the city meeting place type thing. It has 5 floors which half of most of them are full of books. They ahve a whole room with 6 or 7 bookshelves full of books just for Teens. They have a unique way to sort things. They instead of doing fiction and nonfiction sort it into mystery/suspense, series, fiction/fantasy, and then like biographies and such. It takes some getting used to but it had an amazing selection.
After the library I got to go see Jubilee which was a dance festival put on by the youth of like 11 stakes. It was pretty cool. After it ended I went in grandma's car and we stopped at Sonic before taking me home. It was a busy but fun day.
Day 4: Friday 24, 2011
We went to a splash park today. There was water spouting out from everywhere and there was also a three story jungle gym that wasn't part of the water part. And there were swings so we played a little on everything. I can't remember what else we did that day but this was the highlight.
Day 3: Thursday 23, 2011
We ran errands to Target and JoAnn's and the Post Office. I can't remember what we got there only shoes at Target. And a letter to Kyra's Grandma Jill at the Post Office. We might have been getting the materials for the hut I made for the girls, but we will leave that until later. Also, Jon left on a business trip to Seattle today.

Day 2
My aunt Valerie who I am staying with had a Dr.'s appointment so I "babysat" (was arround while the girls, Kyra(5) and Zoe(18mos), watched Dragon Tales and Blues Clues.) After that we went to breakfast/lunch at IN'n'OUT. Jon went to work from there and we went to Costco.
After Costco we came home and because my swimsuits hadn't arrived yet we splashed in the kiddy pool in their back yard. Then Val went visiting teaching and she left me with the girls.
That night Val and I had our first piano lesson. She has the same lesson books I have so we just picked up where I left off. Then I went to bed... since I was tired and had finished Throne of Fire on the plane ride here.
These may not be satisfactory posts but now you get an idea what I do from day to day even if I don't give you every detail.
Day 1: Flying in
Tuesday June 21st: My first flight left at 1:55 but Megan's was supposed to leave at 1:00 so we got there around 12:00. We had lunch at Burger King because we found out that Megan's flight had been delayed about 40 minutes. After eating we went to the gates and found out my flight was one over and megans was leaving from the next one over. Mine arrived right on time. I was lucky enough to get a seat in the third or fourth row inbetween two ladies. We touched down at 2:30. My next flight didn't leave until six so I found my gate and read for a little bit. Then I wandered looking at food choices. I decided to not have dinner, just have a frozen yogurt/Ice cream from TCBY. Then I went back to my gate and read until the plane arrived. On this flight I sat in the middle of a man and a lady. We had a layover in El Paso where the lady got off and I took her window seat. Then there was a storm in the Dallas area so we went into a holding pattern over Witicha Falls. But we got to Dallas where Jon picked me up and we drove home in an awesome lighting storm. I went right to sleep when I got there.
See, Megan isn't amazingly gorgeous all the time. Well, I guess I'm not either.

30 Days in Texas
Give or take a few. For those who don't know, I am in McKinney, Texas. I am here about a month. Most of you don't care or are extremely jealous. But whichever one you are I'll give you a day to day account of these thirty days. Then I won't have to bother telling you when I get home! Miss you all so much.
