Tuesday, June 12th

Today, Dad, Mom, and I went running.  In San Diego.  I am not going to lie and say it was fun, but it was different.

We went to the tide pools.  I touched an anemone and it was cool.  I also got soaked by a wave out on an outcropping.  After the pools we went to the Point Loma Memorial (or whatever it is called) and then the Old Light house.

After, we went to Rubio's for lunch and then went to Pacific Beach.

After our pool clean-off, which means our shower and hot tub soak, we had dinner at home.
We then watched Life-size, and went to bed.

Monday, June 11th

Happy Birthday Megan!

After driving the last three hours to San Diego, we got to check in early at our condo (or whatever you want to call it) and unpack.  There were two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom attached.  One of the rooms had a "futon" shoved in the closet, and the three girls claimed that one, because the "futon" made it sleep three.  My parents took the other, but shared their closet with the boys.  The boys got to sleep on the pull out couch.  After dropping off stuff, we immediately suited up for the beach and lunch.  We went to Panera for the lunch part, and we took it to the beach with us.  We went to a rocky beach just off a road.  I think it was called Torry Pines or something similar.  Though it was rocky, and the tide was high, it was tons of fun.  Really it was the beach that made me happy today.  We got to try out both boogie boards; the sand rider, and the wave rider.  It was tons of fun.  After we went to the pool where, while waiting for Dad to get the pool key, I pulled at least two cups of sand (and that wasn't all of it) out of the swim shorts I wear over my swim suit.  I dumped it on the ground, and then several bugs came out of it.  *Shudder.*  Not a good thought, bugs in your pants.  After we soaked in the hottub for a while, we went home, showered and prepared to go out for Megan's Birthday dinner.  We went to Olive Garden.  After coming home, Mom and the rest the kids sat at home watching Disney Chanel while me and Dad ran to the grocery store, Vons, to get breakfast and lunch foods for the week and cupcakes to celebrate.  All that there was left was Graduation themed.  But hey, Hippo Birdie Two Ewe Megan.  Finally, we all collapsed into bed.

No, this isn't Ethan's,  it's Megans.  The 14 year old.

Sunday, June 10th

I know what you are thinking, and I was not slacking off.   I was partying in  San Diego!  So here are my make up Happy Days and an update on my trip.

LEAVING!

We left Sunday, supposedly right after church, during which Mom and I got pulled into singing the choir number having never heard the music before.  That was fun.  But anyway, we actually left at three.  Then, we had to detour to Highland where Megan had left her sunglasses with a friend.  We also detoured to the library to return some things that would be due while we were gone.  Finally, we got on the road.  We did not drive straight through, but got to sleep in a hotel.  We all know that is what really made me happy.  Getting out of the car stuffed full of Nielsen's, not getting into it!

Saturday, June 9th

Short Hair.
Needless to say (You can probably tell from the pictures and title), I chopped off almost all my hair.  Then I donated it to Locks Of Love.

Third Place.
I got third place in my age group (15-19) in the Cedar Hills 5K this morning.  However, there were only thirty or so runners.

Of Course, Soren beat me by getting third overall with a time of 22 minutes!!

Restoration of a library card.
Last night, I was at the library, and they (not me) lost my card.  This morning they called to say they had found it.  Hooray!  Phewsh!

The heartbreak of the day

So, I am using Ariel as my excuse for this post.  She loves to post everything Harry Potter she finds on her blog.  If she can do that, I decided I could write one post about Doctor Who.

Today, I was watching my favorite show ever, Doctor Who.  Unfortunately, my episode limit is two episodes a day.  The two I watched is where Rose says goodbye to the 10th Doctor forever.  Let's just say, I cried.  Megan showed me that clip previously, and I had cried then too.  But adding context, and every episode before that one, made it harder.  So, I am here to document the breaking of my heart, for the second, and definitely not last time.

Friday, June 8th

Peach colored Jammies.

Usually I wait until the day after to post so that whatever it is isn't replaced, but this is just so happy I have to use it.
I got these new pajamas that are my new favorite color, and light. Some things you just can't explain.

Thursday, June 7th

Glow Sticks.

Today, I went to play night games with my friend Sophie, and after it had gotten dark(ish) we pulled out the glow sticks.  There is just something cool about watching really bright glow sticks in the dark, and a ball of them flying through the air.

Wednesday, June 6th

A cute, chubby, baby boy.

Today my mother's friend came over to do whatever the equivalent of "hang out" is for adult women.  She brought her two little boys, one of whom is so cute and chubby.  He is 8 months old.  Regretfully I did not snag a picture, but there are tons of pictures of baby's in this world!

Stars on my ceiling.
Today, Soren took down his stars from his ceiling and I got them.  For some reason, they just make me happy.  One of those random things.

I don't know if you can see them, but there are my stars!

A Happy Summer

So, my summer is going to be full to the brim.  I am not actually a big fan of summer because I hate being bored.  Instead of focusing on the boring or hard things that I do, I am going to put something that makes me happy everyday, or as much as I can.  Big or little, I am going to find something happy every day.

Ending

I got off and now I am skipping to the end of my TX trip which I now hardly remember! Most these pictures were taken by Grandma TX's i Phone so the quality is not the best.

The last two aren't from my last day but I included them anyway.
I had a great time on this trip! I love you guys in TX and miss you lots!

San Antonio! Monday

Happy Independancce day! Why don't we show our independance by driving 5 hours in a car yet again? That is how we spend the later half of our holiday. In the morning we finished off the bagels and packed and got out. Then we parted ways with Ben and Melissa and they started home while we went to a cave. It was a cave in the ground and we went 180 ft underneath the surface. We could see all the way down to 207 ft. It was really cool and they had a lot of huge formations! And Kyra and Zoe, of course, absolutely loved the dark spooky cave. After lunch at Red Robin we started the drive home with a 4:30 snack of Sonic and arriving home around 8:30. Jon, kyra, and I went to see the fireworks and got pretty good spots within walking distance of their house. I got to talk to home and overall it wasn't to terrible a holiday for the first one not spent in Centerville.

San Antonio! Sunday

Schlitterbahn. I have no pictures but it was so much fun. We got lost along the way because the direction so helpfully given to us by Val's phone were walking directions. However we were in the car so we changed them and got there eventually. In the car was Jon, Val, Kyra, Megan, and me. Ben had to work in the morning so they figured that Melissa would keep the two babies and she and Ben would bring them after their early naps. Well, Ben had to make an emergency trip back to Houston so Melissa was alone all day with two 18 months old children. She didn't get to see schlitterbahn at all. But we had fun! There was a lazy river in one park and two river rides in the other that we went to which went into the actual river! It was a lot of fun and I am glad we went. We got back to the hotel around 10 and brought poor Melissa some food. Ben got back around 11 and we talked for a little while then all went to bed.
