Day 18: Your biggest insecurity

I don't know what my biggest insecurity is but I have many fears. I guess a big insecurity is that I don't like being insulted or praised. No it is true! I don't really know how to return a compliment well so it makes me feel awkward when someone tells me I'm great or smart or something. Then I hate being insulted. This is because I have a very unbalanced self confidence scale that is easily tipped to low. I like living my life as me because I'm me, not because I have a compliment or insult given to me.

There is this book called You are Special by Max Lucado. Here is a summary off Good Reads:

The Wemmicks are wooden people. They give each other stars and dot. Stars are for being talented and pretty, and dots are for being ugly or non-talented. Punchinello is a Wemmick who receives dots, but one day he meets a Wemmick who doesn’t have stars or dots and is told to go visit Eli. He does, and Eli tells Punchinello that he is special because Eli made him. He also tells him the only way to get rid of the spots is to not care about what other people think about him. When Punchinello leaves Eli’s, one of his dots falls off of his body.

It is a great book and so are all of Max Lucado's. I hope you understand how this applies to my insecurity if not ask someone else.

Day 17: An Impact

There are some pretty obvious things like my grandpa passed away and my aunt and uncle moved to China then had a baby. But there are some things that have made are still impacting me like moving to Cedar Hills. It has been almost 3 years and it still feels new. But I did live in Lehi for 8 years so give me a break. Just a short post because I have 5 others to make up.

Day 16: Someone who inspires you

This has taken me over a week to finally figure out. Someone who inspires me I am related too. She is my 4th great grandmother and her name is Catherine Adams. She was a pioneer and crossed the plains in 1850 when she was 12. I found out about her when our trek leaders asked us to find one of our relatives that was a pioneer. In researching I found out about her and have discovered many interesting things about her. I have two books that I have found information in, one about her husband, Richard Pilling, and one about her father, Elias Adams. It has been an interesting and inspiring experience and I am sure trek will be fun and cool too.

Day 15: Something you want to do before you die

Read more(You may be wondering: is it possible? Yes, I will make it possible). Become more patient so I am worthy of raising a family. Get married in the temple before I raise the fore mentioned family. Go somewhere with bragging rights, because what is the point if you can't say to someone, "Oh yeah, I went there." Become a better friend. Go to college. Get a degree at college. Earn my Young Women's Medallion. Say something that gets quoted by others. It goes on, but I will stop here. Excuse the bad quality pictures, they are from Google Images.

Day 14: Someone you could never imagine life with out

To say that I can't imagine life without my family would be a lie, I've though about it many times and it is a horrible reality. But if it means who you couldn't imagine a good life without then it is my family hands down. I love them so much! They are infinitely there for better or for worse. They are my rock and my waves. They mean so much to me and though we do not always get along perfectly, I would be devastated if any of them were to leave us. Here is a shout out to all my family, immediate and extended for being the best you can possibly be!

Day 13: Your favortie band or artist

Probably Owl City or They Might Be Giants. I listen to a variety of music, none of it what is popular right now. I love Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Quest for Camelot, and Les Miserables music. But if I had to choose a more modern thing it would be Owl City.

Day 12: Something you love

I love chocolate, family, friends, scary stories during the day, cameras, pictures, school, books, water: rivers, lakes, oceans, etc. I also love mountains, hiking, camping, singing, playing the piano, rollerblading, eating at Zupa's and Chick-fil-a, hanging out with my aunts and uncles, crafting, sewing, creating, writing.

Is that long enough for you guys?

Day 11: Something you hate

I hate a lot of things. I hate being all alone in the dark. I hate feeling alone even when I am not. I hate when people lie to me. I hate scary movies, but only when it is after dark. I hate practicing the clarinet. I hate when people pretend to be something they are not. I hate it when people put down others. I hate it when I am not right. :) I hate having to put down my book when my dad unplugs my lamp. I absolutely despise it when they mess up books by turning them into movies. I hate it when a series ends.

I told you I hate a lot of things!

No pictures today either.

Day 10: Silly Things

I am silliest with my friends and my Aunts. I tend to goof off more with my friends and Aunts than when I am with my immediate family or in public. I don't think of myself as being funny, but some people disagree. And as I have no pictures of me being silly with my aunts or my friends I am not adding pictures to this post. Sad, but oh well. Thanks for being silly guys!

Day 9: Person that has gotten you through the most

Well that was easy. My mom is totally the answer to this.

Day 8: Something that makes you laugh

Jokes, being tickled, funny books, my mom, a lot of things make me laugh. And boy do I laugh! Here are some crazy things that make me laugh.

Day 7: Treasured Item

I don't know what my most treasured item is. If there were a fire and I only had time to do one thing, I would go help my family, so is that my most treasured item? Or can I count my mom's camera, which isn't actually mine? What do I do?

And as always my mom comes to the rescue with the suggestion of my BOOKS! Now that I think of it, it is really a "duh" option. So, my books are my most treasured item. Which one? I have no idea, but as a whole, books are my most treasured item.

Day 6: Trading Places

What does it even mean to trade places? And how would the person trading with you feel about this? Well, I totally agree with my mom about being a librarian, just not a school librarian. A public librarian is much less social because there are several others. I like books and organizing so it seems perfect for me.

Day 5: Your Favorite Memory

This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. It was fun to go to the Young Women's Conference with Mom and Megan. I asked my mom what she thought my favorite memory was and she said that if I could remember it, it would be in San Diego. I LOVED the ocean. I do remember the San Diego trip so here are a few pictures and explanations. This is Soren, Megan, and I when we first got to the beach on our first day. We are all quite hesitant.

This is me after a while of playing, soaked up above the waist.

And this is how I felt about the whole experience.

In my mom's scrapbooks she has this picture of Emily and it says: Emily- usually such a brave baby- was quite unsure of the cold water that seemed to want to carry her away...
This is the part I actually remember of that trip. I remember Jon and Val taking me and jumping me over the waves. When I asked my mom about it she said we were lucky Jon and Val were there or else I would have washed away!

I still love the ocean and any running water. I feel confident saying this is my favorite memory.

Day 4: The person you've liked the longest

Well, unlike some other challengers, I am not going to put who I "like like" because I don't "like like" anyone. So I am going to do my parents. I like them a lot. Even enough to say that I love them. They have always been there for me. Even though I don't like them sometimes, I still love them.

Day 3: Cast of your favorite TV show

I think this is the best TV show ever! It is a one person cast... a game show... This Is JEOPARDY! The host is Alex Trebek. I LOVE this show. It is on every weekdays at 7:30 on KJZZ.

Happy Spring Break

So, my school's spring break starts today. Fun in the warm spring sunshine, playing at the park, picnics, all things you would expect to be able to do over spring break, right? A taste a summer, which is on the way. Well in Utah it is a little different.Horrible right? Well, there goes my spring break. Then again, reading is always an option. Actually this might be a nice, if not productive, spring break.

Day 2: You and the Person you used to be close to

This is a hard one as I am only 14 and haven't had that many people to be close to but fall away from. I was close to a lot of people at Sarotoga Shores and Snow Springs but especially Corrine. I do not remember her last name. One year she came over to our house for Trick-Or-Treating, another time I went to her house and he made hats while watching Pippi Longstocking. I miss her a lot and wish we had kept more in tough but when I moved to Cedar Hills I lost track of a lot of friends. I knew Corrine in 3rd grade. Another friend I really miss is Turner. She was one of my best friends in 5th grade and we went through a lot of drama together. Both these girls I miss a lot. The picture below is of Corrine and I on Halloween.
And for those of you that noticed I forgot to post a picture on yesterday's post. So here is just a general one of me. I am, of course, reading.

Day 1: Yourself with 15 facts

Here we go! (Brace yourselves.)
  1. I am a social recluse
  2. I love to read
  3. I hate books being turned into movies
  4. I like to be difficult
  5. I like to be unique
  6. I live in Utah
  7. I an LDS
  8. I love music
  9. I love knee high socks
  10. I love Autumn
  11. I love rainy days
  12. I hate slushy snow and that snow that doesn't stick around
  13. I hate keyboarding and only bear it because of Ariel Van Dyke
  14. I like to be creative on my own time, but don't like when people tell me that I can just do whatever I want. I prefer a straight yes or no when at school.
  15. This was surprisingly easy once I got past the "What do I want people to know about me?" and the "Me? These things describe a lot of people not just me!"
So this was, like I said, surprisingly easy. These are all things that describe a lot of people but when combined it is the perfect mix to create me! 1 day down, 29 to go.
