April 29th

Friday:

Today we went to the Tower of London! But of course we started with breakfast and class time. Because of ticket limitations, the Peacocks could not accompany us into the Tower, so we were set free to explore the exhibits and take the Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) Tour.

Because Annie and I had visited the Tower before, after the tour, we did a quick walk through of the crown jewels and decided to spend our time elsewhere. We ended up just kind of wandering all over London.
We wandered through Covent Gardens and the Theatre District picking up Gelato on the way, then we wandered up and down Charing Cross Road, and in and out of book stores. Then through the National Gallery, took pictures in Trafalgar square and back in time for dinner.

closest I'll ever get to seeing it :'(

Something I hadn't realized before: the National Gallery was built to be a museum, it wasn't a reformed Manor House or Palace!

My favorite Sassy Roman outside the Gallery

Oh! I almost forgot! As we were leaving Trafalgar Square, Annie and I stopped to take a panorama of the whole shebang. As Annie lifted her phone to start her picture, a woman came over and started yelling at her "Why were you taking a picture of me, you can't just take pictures of me" Annie tried to explain that she was taking a panoramic but the lady was gripping her phone and saying she had to delete it. Annie agreed and went to her photos and deleted the single picture that she wasn't even in, and the lady was like "No you didn't delete it. You have to delete it, just let me do it" and trying to take her phone! But Annie kept a good grip, and I put myself kind of between their bodies. Annie deleted all of her recently deleted photos and the woman had nothing else to go on and just kind of stalked off. We checked our pockets and our purses, and nothing was missing, but we think she was trying to steal our phone or pick our pockets. Luckily we made it through without losing anything, but we were definitely extra paranoid riding the tube home!

We came home and ate dinner and watched the Young Victoria- which was an EXCELLENT movie.
