Today we were free to do what we wanted all morning, because in the evening we went to see Taming of the Shrew in the globe theater!
So, I woke up and did my part for kitchen crew, then got ready for the day. Everyone else had already done their museum visit for the week, so I set off to do that, then worked on my weekly essay at the British Museum, where Annie and Kyle met up with me.
We went souvenir shopping and walked through Leicester Square looking for an Ice cream fix, which we didn't find, but that was okay, because we stopped by McDonald's for McFlurries on our way home to grab our stuff for the play

Because if you can't have a british flag teapot, you should at least have a picture of a british flag teapot

Before the play began, we went to a lecture about the play sponsored by the theatre. It was interesting to listen to, because Taming of the Shrew is a very very controversial play, especially in today's political climate. The presenter talked about a couple of different possible interpretations of the play which was interesting but the spin the play ended up taking was kind of dark. Also both sisters were played by there understudies, so the main character (Kate) had to have her script with her the whole time. Even with that though, it was really well directed, just a hard play in general to watch.

I think it's so cool you saw a play in the Globe Theatre! And it looks like you got seats! I always like the lectures when I am going to watch Shakespeare, otherwise I don't understand anything!
